The Wonderfully Efficient World of Web Based Training

Writen by Morgan Hamilton

The increase in popularity of the web based training is enormous today. I believe that the reasons for this are pretty obvious. There are quite a few reasons why people prefer training on the web than any other method of learning a subject. First of all, web based training is not only efficient but also cheap. There are many companies selling web based training programs which allow you to put your course material in an interactive format for use online.

Of course, these programs in particular might be quite expensive. However, once you pay the initial price, then you can create as much web based training as you wish for no charge. If you make a comparison with printing all of the course materials, renting classrooms, hiring teachers to give lectures every week, and all the other expenses that come along, you will see that web based training is the most economical solution for whatever learning program you might need.

Try to remember the convenience of using web based training while at home and you will never think of any other form of learning. Isn’t it great if students can submit their papers, ask questions, and have tests from their own homes? I really cannot see a better solution for the working professional, can you?

On the other side, there are people who protest against web based training without even knowing much about it. Their main fear is that web based training robs the children of social contacts with the teacher and their classmates. Consequently, a classroom is a better place to learn. I can fully agree that the best way for any children to learn is generally to go to a classroom but having in mind all the positive sides of the web based training I dare to say it is a competitive option.

Taking classes on the web includes e-mail, live and video conferences. In case the student and teacher live in the same state and city they could even arrange an actual meeting. In conclusion, life is said to be speeding up more and more but here is the need for web based training which has remained unfulfilled. I believe web based training is highly necessary as it lets the busy professional learn the skills they need.

Finding The Best Computer Printer Ink Refills

Writen by George Wood

Finding a computer printer ink refills is not hard enough. If you’re looking computer printer ink refills online or in the stores, you can get easily. The thing is that what you want in fact which refills that you want to purchase. Even there is another possibility to find out computer printer ink refill kits.

It is obvious that you will feel sticky while purchasing your computer printer ink refill kits. However there are several ink refill kits on the market that and you will able to get 3 or 4 ink cartridges at the price of a branded cartridge. In fact this sort of choice can make problem to your printer as these refill kits leave your cartridges leaking and end up ruining your printer.

If you want to refill to your computer printer ink refills you should get a professional do the refilling. If it is one of those brands that only accept their printer cartridges then, especially in this case you can able to compromise your printer.

There are some printers that will accept computer printer ink refills. If your printer will accept such computer printer ink refills it doesn’t affect to your warranty to use them. But if you are happy with the results, then you can save the money. In fact you need to sure about these refills while you are purchasing them if they don’t work with every printer and in every situation.

Even you should not insert the cartridge into your printer if you see dried ink on the refill cartridge or wet ink or any sign of leakage. However it will be better to purchase the brand name printer ink cartridge rather than a new printer, in fact it will make you cheap.

Poor Quality Computer Printer Ink

The person who has owned a printer at one time or another experienced the trials and tribulations of printer ink. In some cases you may get good quality photo and then next you can hardly see anything at all.

In fact you can assume it is the problem of the printer if you are countering to these problems. They leads troubleshooting, taking out their ink cartridges, and unplugging the printer. You may buy another ink cartridge assuming that the old one was ruined if none of that works well. In fact this process continues again and again.

However people ignore the fact that their ink quality is bad which affects the finished product. It seems like they should all be the same, just a few basic colors that blend to form several brilliant colors. Honestly to be saying that poor quality computer printer ink can ruin the look of your printing and shorten the life of your printer cartridge.

Print quality is depending upon the quality ink cartridges for good printing look. In fact your colors will be bright and vibrant, with no signs of fading or wearing out if you have a good quality ink cartridge. But the poor quality ink cartridges will show faded colors. The ink may show up thick or may smudge prematurely. There is another symptom of poor quality ink is that the ink fades fast once it has dried on the paper. One thing to consider when judging the quality of your ink is whether or not your ink is compatible with your printer. So you have to use only of the same brand to get good out put.

The quality of your computer printer ink depends upon the cartridge life. In fact the cartridges only have the durability. If you have determined that your printer is operating properly, you can safely assume that your ink cartridge is the bad. So go for another brand of ink cartridge. If that is not an option because of your printer’s brand, then try you can use different type of cartridge from that brand of your printer only.

If you can success over the poor quality computer printer ink, you can start printing beautiful work. You should always sure about to align your new print cartridges which is the right way for your printed items look evenly spaced and aligned. You should try until you need a new ink cartridge after that it’s smooth sailing.

Blu-ray vs HD-DVD – The Lowdown on the Warring Formats

Writen by Josh Biggs

The current aim of blu-ray and HD-DVD is to get as much public support quickly as ultimately it is the consumer who will decide which format comes out on top. With the unification talks failing it is up to you to make the decision of which format to adopt. To help you with this tough decision is the lowdown on how each format matches below.

History

The blu-ray format’s head companies are Sony and Philips with Toshiba and Hitachi heading up the HD-DVD format. This situation isn’t the first time where these two sides have gone at each other with opposing formats. The DVD format was born from the co-operation of the Multimedia Compact Disc from Sony/Philips (MMCD) and the Super Density Disc (SD) from Toshiba. Though it ended well for the consumer with the DVD format being widely adopted and becoming the new standard, it was Toshiba’s camp who came out on top in regards to royalties.

This led to the work on new formats by both sides with Sony aiming to regain some of its lost market. The two projects though had been in production but not really going anywhere at the time. Sony’s Professional Disc for Data (PDD) became the blu-ray format while Toshiba’s Advanced Optical Disc becoming HD-DVD. This leads us back to the original situation where there are two competing formats with a unification looking a lot less likely.

Technical

Both blu-ray and HD-DVD use a wavelength of 405nm however the smaller track pitch on blu-ray (see Blu-ray Disc) allows more information to be squeezed on and so gives the larger capacity. However it is the differing track pitch that makes these two formats incompatible. The surface layer of the two is different also as HD-DVD uses a 0.6mm layer similar to DVD whereas blu-ray uses a 0.1mm clear plastic layer.

This difference is the main reason why costs are higher with blu-ray. Costly production methods are needed to be able to make the discs and a hard coating must be applied to make the discs suitably resilient to dust and fingerprints.

Capacity

Blu-ray currently offers discs in 25gb for single layer and 50gb for dual layer. However TDK has started work on a 200gb disc which is 6×33gb layers. HD-DVD comes in 15gb for the single layer and 30gb for the dual layer. Best tests so far have achieved 45gb but 60gb is the theoretical limit. This shows that the maximum for HD-DVD is only 10gb more than what blu-ray can already offer.

Codecs

Both formats use the same codecs to play video as they are both able to play standard and high-definition. This means that MPEG-2, Microsoft Video Codec 1 (aka VC1, WMV HD, etc.) and H.264 / MPEG-4 AVC are all supported on both formats.

Security

Both blu-ray and HD-DVD have to make use of HDCP encrypted output and the Advanced Access Content System (AACS). Both HDCP and AACS are mandatory for any discs with HD video. Blu-ray also incorporates ROM-Mark watermarking technology and BD dynamic crypto which generates special keys for batches of discs. HD-DVD uses a similar system in the Volume Identifying technology.

Support

Both formats are heavily supported in both the Consumer Electronics (CE) and Information Technology (IT) industries. However blu-ray has a better portion of the big name movie and game studios supporting it which is essential for there to be a ready amount of content at launch. See below for the list of Supporting studios:

structured cabling standards for commercial buildings

Structured Cabling Standards for Commercial Buildings

Writen by Travis Fisher

In today’s business climate, it is expected that the commercial buildings that we occupy will be able to support our voice and data networking needs today and in the future. Why is this important? Improperly designed networks can manifest a variety of symptoms, including hum, noise, crosstalk and poor voice quality over phone lines, or low data transmission speeds, failed print jobs, and bottlenecks over data lines. When situations such as this arise, your phones and computers become a competitive disadvantage, causing unnecessary frustration and higher service costs. In addition, your business will be in poor position to adopt new technologies that could give you an edge over the competition as they become available.

To help businesses ensure a strong, reliable networking infrastructure, the Telecommunications Industry of America (TIA) and other standards organizations have teamed up to develop standardized methodologies relating to the installation of structured cable networks. There are standards established relating to wiring buildings, creating pathways and spaces in the building design for network cable, and managing the network cable throughout the building as needs change. Together, these standards provide a “blue print” to architects, contractors, and network installers so that you will have a network that will work with any product from any vendor. These standards are used as requirements for Federal, State, and Local Government buildings, and you should require them for your projects as well.

The most important standard to know about is TIA 568-B.1-2000, the Commercial Building Telecommunications Wiring Standard. It was developed through a consortium of more than 60 contributing organizations, so the support for this standard is very broad. This latest revision to the 568 standard defines the technical and performance criteria for creating a strong, reliable network capable of supporting voice, data, and video. The goal of this standard is to provide:

A generic telecommunication wiring system for commercial buildings

Defined media, topology, termination and connection points, and administration

Support for multi vendor, multi product environments

Direction for technology migration and future design of telecommunications products

The intent of this standard is to provide best practices for the design and installation of systems that will support a wide variety of services from many vendors, while giving a good likelihood that your network will support future technologies as well. You can expect networks built with 568-B in mind to have a lifespan of 10 years or more. A similar TIA standard for Category 5 cable, widely used for these types of applications throughout the 1990’s, had a life span of about 9 years. During that time, network performance increased ten fold. About 5 years ago TIA updated their standard to specify that only Category 5e cable be used because of the advent of Gigabit networks which are only now becoming prevalent in most business environments.

Utilizing 568-B (and other related standards), it is possible to build integrated structured cabling systems for commercial buildings and campus environments involving multiple buildings. Cable types, connectors, distances, architectures, terminations, performance metrics, installation requirements and testing methods are all outlined in 568-B. Subsets of this standard address the specific issues relating to special cable types.

It’s best to insure that your structured cabling adheres to these standards from the point of initial building design through completion. A good architect can design the building to include equipment rooms, server closets, and cable pathways that meet the TIA standards. With a building plan in mind, an infrastructure engineer can then design your structured cabling around your business objectives and a structured cabling specialist or electrician should be able to efficiently install the cabling. Because many building codes apply to low voltage cabling, it’s important to ensure that all parties involved are aware of these regulations. One example is the requirement to use fire retarding plenum coated cable in environments like open ceilings.

Because it’s much easier to wire a new building while the walls are open versus after building completion, it’s in your best interest to make sure that the job is done correctly the first time. You’ll want to plan for plenty of extra capacity while establishing the design requirements of your structured cabling, because adding a cable drop later will cost you much more. Serious rehabilitation of structured cabling is usually possible, but will cost many more times the price of the initial installation in time, materials, and lost productivity.

Once you have a strong, reliable network in place, your business will be in great position to adopt technologies as they emerge. The physical layer upon which these devices and applications run will be ready to go when you are. This will reduce future project completion costs, add more value to your technology investments, and create a competitive advantage over others in your industry.

Software Upgrades Aren’t Always the Best Move

Writen by Meryl K. Evans

When my daughter was getting into AOL instant messaging (AIM) and using all the cool add-ons, I looked for more as it’s a great way to learn about extending applications. While doing research, I learned that if you wanted to use AIM themes, you don’t want to upgrade to AIM 5.9. A post at MyThemes suggests sticking with or downgrading to 5.5. MyTheme shows what steps to take, should you prefer to stick with 5.9. The post also shows where to download 5.5 and how to downgrade back to it. Furthermore, 5.9 was bloated. Think it took a while for AIM to completely load in 5.5? 5.9 is worse.

Many people, Hubby included, didn’t upgrade WinAmp past version 2.8 because he didn’t like version 3.0’s playlist and it kept crashing. Then, he got a pop up that an upgrade was available. He figured he’d try it as it couldn’t hurt and he still had 2.81’s install. He liked the new interface and themes on version 5.0, so he stuck with it. That’s three versions later.

When I got my new computer, I stayed with Microsoft Office 2002 / OfficeXP. The new features weren’t worth it and I’m happy with this version. As long as I have my word count, tracking, and comments — the other stuff doesn’t matter as much. New software products tend to have more bloat than usefulness. This does not apply to ALL new software, just a general statement that it’s often the case.

I usually skip a version or two before considering an upgrade unless I see a feature that I think would prove valuable. When it comes to operating systems, I wait till the new one has been out for a long time before considering it.

When I finally got around to buying accounting software in 2003, I researched to see what would best meet my needs. Many users pointed to the older versions of QuickBooks. I currently use QuickBooks Pro 2000. Although, I miss some of the more modern features and functionality, it has all I need. In a quick search, I couldn’t find the sites that talk about the versions and their advantages / disadvantages. I had to buy my copy from eBay.

If you find an upgrade awful and uninstalled the old version that you want back, just hop to OldVersion.com — can’t forget a name like that. But if it doesn’t have your software, use Google and enter the software title along with the version number. It always works for me.

eStore Advantage – Extending Microsoft eConnect for MBS Great Plains

Writen by Josh Cook

eStore Advantage allows front-office applications to communicate with back-office business environments. It has a built-in support for electronic payment processing, and serves as a core integration platform for Nodus Technologies front-to-back office connectivity suites including RMS and CRM Advantage.

eStore Advantage for Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains leverages Microsoft eConnect to provide seamless integration into Great Plains back office. Here are some of the highlights of eStore Advantage, and how it extends eConnect’s EAI interface to provide a complete end-to-end solution.

Reduced Deployment Time:

Microsoft eConnect is a powerful tool for Great Plains back office integrations. Although it provides a robust XML interface, the system integrators still need to be familiar with MBS Great Plains table structures and field names. eStore Advantage simplifies Microsoft eConnect’s XML document interface by providing an easy to use business object layer. Application developers don’t have to know about Great Plains or eConnect, they just utilize the provided objects to implement their business logic. All the underlying integration issues are handled by eStore Advantage, thus reducing the deployment time and the learning curve associated with eConnect implementations.

Connected / Disconnected Modes:

The eStore Advantage framework is designed to operate in both disconnected and connected environments. In disconnected mode information is exchanged through Nodus Web Service hosted at the back office, in cases where web service is down or not available, messages are queued at the front office till the communication is restored. In connected mode all the data follows to the back office without being queued, however the web service can still be deployed if deemed necessary.

XML-based Architecture:

Designed for easy maintenance and durability eStore Advantage Business Objects utilize XML for serialization, queuing and data transport between front and back office environments. It not only offers existing storefronts, web solutions, and custom applications the ability to integrate with back office environment, but also provides developers a powerful infrastructure for their electronic commerce and enterprise applications. Customers don’t have to worry about different eConnect intrinsic XML documents types and field names. They have the flexibility to define their own fields, and customize how they are mapped to eConnect documents. In addition they have the ability to access custom tables defined within Great Plains or an external database.

Simplified Integration – Helps You Focus on Business Level Issues:

In short eStore Advantage significantly decreases implementation time from months to days, enabling customers to focus on business logic and application development rather than integration issues. eStore Advantage for Great Plains comes pre-packaged with Credit Card Advantage and Microsoft eConnect Runtime providing a complete solution that’s both practical and cost effective.

Great Plains Dexterity: Customizations & Source Code Programming

Writen by Andrew Karasev

Great Plains Software Dynamics, Dynamics C/S+, eEnterprise were written on GPS proprietary programming language and development environment – Great Plains Dexterity. When Microsoft bought Great Plains Software, Dynamics was renamed into Microsoft Great Plains, but Dexterity is still the architectural base, there were trends to move MS Great Plains to .Net and reprogram it in C#, but in our opinion Microsoft is probing its own technologies and places them into competition with each other. Microsoft Business Portal is probably the direction, when existing ERP products: Great Plains, Navision, Axapta, Solomon will have seamless web interface. In this small article we’ll try to give your Dexterity source code programming options and directions.

Source Code Program Closing. This move was announced by Microsoft Business Solutions in the beginning of 21st century. It should be probably attributed to .Net optimism. In time MBS acquired Great Plains Software (with GP and Solomon), then Navision Software (with Navision and Axapta). Microsoft had to plan its newly acquired products integration and synergy

Source Code Program. Great Plains Software provided participants with DYNAMICS.DIC and its third party dictionaries with Dexterity sanscript codes (in commercial DYNAMICS.DIC these codes are stripped off). Source code program allows your dexterity developers to deploy advanced technologies, such as tax engine calls and replacements, posting engine call, etc. Plus it allows you to deploy GP lookup forms in your customization.

Source Core Program Reopening. As it was announced on the recent MBS conference – Microsoft may reopen the program, this is very interesting move, which signals that MBS takes more conservative approach and might decide to support its products with their legacy technologies

The Future. Project Green, or Microsoft might decide to rename it, the idea is to form business suites from existing products and code base. However we should be reasonable and respect the efforts of MBS – to form business suites – this is very serious move and it should take several years to come out with the first version.

Great Plains as Mature ERP. Yes – this is the phase of the product life. Great Plains Dynamics was released in 1994 and it is 11 years old product.

We are confident in Great Plains as an ERP platform for the following industries: Aerospace & Defense, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare & Hospitals, Insurance, Textile, Apparels, Services, Placement & Recruiting, Apparels, Beverages, Logistics & Transportation, Food, Restaurants Supply Chain Management, Gold & Mining, Jewelry, Consignment, Wholesale & Retail.

Good luck with selection, implementation, customization and integration and if you have issues or concerns – we are here to help! If you want us to do the job – give us a call 866-528-0577 or 630-961-5918! help@albaspectrum.com

Copy & Burn DVD Movie To A Single CD

Writen by O. Montag

Lately we have been witnesses of one of the major technological revolutions regarding the way we record our memories and the fruits of our imagination. With this I mean how we have managed to migrate from the old long-plays, both music and VHS cassettes that were so prevalent for many years, to the now famous CD and DVD formats that can store a huge amount of data in just a thin, reflective plate that keeps information as digital bites on its surface.

But maybe our migration to the new formats has been too fast, everything has happened so rapidly that most of us still have lots of our favorite movies and memories in the formerly prevalent VHS-format. But now even VCR’s are getting hard to find in stores. So there is a growing need to copy the old VHS format to the new CD or DVD format. It is a dream many people has had lately, and a number of them has often thought it was too hard to do . But now copying VHS to DVD,CD has become possible, with the right software it’s possible to have your favorite VHS movies turned into DVD or CD format.

Also I should mention there is a difference between CD and DVD formats that makes the electronic devices that read each of the storage formats a bit different. DVD’s are designed to store much more information than CD’s do. This means the digitalization of the information stored on the DVD is “finer” with the consequence that the laser frequency used in each of the formats differs, with DVD’s needing a higher frequency than CD’s in order for the reading and reproducing device to be able to perform its function.

As you surely know DVD’s are used mostly for movies and CD’s for music. The obvious reason is the size of a movie file, that contains lots of images added to the soundtrack, compared with just the music stored in a CD. It’s cheaper and easier to find a CD reader than a DVD reader so there are times you would wish to have your favorite movie on a CD. Thank to technology, with the right software you can do that and have your favorite DVD movies burned on CD.

Now you can burn any DVD to CD easily. Get the Software:

bar code generating software

Bar Code Generating Software

Writen by Eddie Tobey

Each bar code has a start bar and an end bar to allow the scanner to read the data precisely. Some bar codes have another bar known as the checksum bar code. After the scanner calculates the sum, it is verified with the value of the checksum bar code for accuracy. This ensures exact calculation with minimal errors.

A number of bar-code-generating software suites are currently available on the market. In order to generate a bar code, the software needs to be installed and certain specifications need to be entered into the software. The most common specifications are the width of the bar code, height of the bar code, spacing between the bars, and symbology. Also, the code word needs to be provided for it to be changed into a bar code format.

Bar code symbology specifies the kind of bar code to be generated. One-dimensional and two-dimensional are the common kinds. Among these there would be subdivisions as to the type of bar code that needs to be created by the software.

Bar code generating software allows the user to easily create a design. The bar code can consist of numbers or alphanumeric characters. Various fonts can be used to distinguish the code while providing a unique touch. A few manufacturers are also experimenting with the graphics within the code, but such experiments require the software to be highly sophisticated to be able to understand it.

Bar code generating software suites come as complete packages that help in the whole process. When the word “whole” is used in this context it includes everything from generating the software to printing labels. Many software suites include the printing software as part of the suite. Since this is included, so too are the printing fonts.

While most can afford to buy bar code generating software, those who cannot can download the software from the Internet. One can also do the work online. Your work can be stored as an image file and used with the printing software to get it onto the labels.

With the software, a minor mistake would be tough to rectify in the later stages due to the unreadability of a bar code. A manual with simple instructions would be provided, which the user needs to go through before starting on a design.

Bar code generating and printing software is available in many varieties. Shopping around would be a good option, as is getting to know all the features of a particular software suite you wish to buy.

Bar Code Software provides detailed information on Bar Code Software, Bar Code Scanner Software, Bar Code Printing Software, Free Bar Code Software and more. Bar Code Software is affiliated with Retail POS Software.
